Original boundary error
The reviewed exchange terminated an ECDH relationship at an intermediary rather than exclusively between the two intended endpoints. As a result, the implementation did not support the end-to-end confidentiality claim attached to that design.
Revised exchange
The correction moved ephemeral key agreement to the client and administrator endpoints and bound their public values to the session transcript. The relay remained responsible for transport, while the endpoint implementations derived the message keys.
What the change does not establish
The redesign addresses the identified party-boundary problem in the reviewed code. It does not establish endpoint integrity, implementation-wide forward secrecy, resistance to traffic analysis or the absence of other protocol flaws. This archived record should be read together with the later verification notes.
